Get Mice Out. Keep Mice Out!

Since 1976 Landmark’s mouse control process focuses on baiting, sealing, and monitoring. First, we target active mouse activity inside the home. Then we inspect for entry points and provide a custom quote for sealing gaps and holes. Ongoing monitoring helps detect new activity before it becomes a larger infestation

Rodents belong outdoors, not inside your home or business

Landmark’s Three-Part Mouse Treatment Process

Baiting
We inspect the home to determine where mice are active and place tamper-resistant locking bait stations in areas where mice live, breed, and feed.

Sealing
Baiting alone cannot solve a mouse problem. Landmark inspects for entry points and provides a custom quote to seal gaps and holes based on each home’s needs.

Monitoring
Ongoing monitoring helps detect new mouse activity. Homes settle, gaps open, and mice can chew new holes. Quarterly checks help identify renewed activity early.

Why Do I Have Mice in My House?

Mice are a commensal pest species, meaning they thrive by living alongside people. Homes provide warmth, shelter, food, and protected nesting areas, making them an ideal place for mice to survive and reproduce.

A mouse can fit through an opening as small as ¼ inch. That’s about the diameter of a Bic pen. Once inside, mice breed quickly, contaminate food, leave droppings and urine throughout the home, and can damage wiring, insulation, and wood. Unless both the mice and their entry points are addressed, the problem often returns.

Landmark’s approach combines effective mouse control with structural exclusion. Our specialists identify active mouse travel routes while our structural experts locate and seal openings ¼ inch or larger to help keep mice from returning.

They’re looking for shelter. They’re looking for warmth. They’re looking at your home. Landmark helps get mice out and keep them out.

How to Permanently Solve a Mouse Problem

Every small, unprotected opening is an invitation to mice. Finding and sealing these openings is one of the most effective ways to solve mouse problems and reduce the need for ongoing rodent control. Sealing gaps to keep mice out is the best long-term solution to a mouse infestation.

Mice commonly enter through gaps beneath doors, around utility lines, pipe chases, vents, rooflines, and other structural openings as small as ¼ inch.

Doors without properly fitted door sweeps remain one of the most common entry points. Bristle-style door sweeps are easily gnawed through by mice and other rodents. Landmark installs rodent-resistant door sweeps and exclusion materials built to help keep mice out.

Because mice are excellent climbers, a thorough inspection should also include attic spaces, rooflines, utility entry points, ducts, vents, and other structural areas where mice commonly travel or nest.

Fires Risks Associated with Rodent Activity

According to the Illinois Department of Public Health, rodents are believed to contribute to a significant number of fires attributed to unknown causes.

Because mice seek warmth and shelter, they often build nests near furnaces, pilot lights, vents, utility equipment, and other heat-producing areas. Nesting materials, combined with rodents chewing electrical wiring, can increase fire risk inside homes and buildings.

Landmark’s monitoring program is designed to identify recurring mouse activity early. When new activity is detected, our team investigates how mice are entering the structure and recommends exclusion measures to help seal mice out and reduce future risks.
